You may not be doing anything wrong at all.
One of the most common concerns I hear from homeschooling parents is that they feel “behind” or that lessons are taking longer than expected. Remember that homeschooling is different from a classroom setting. You are teaching real children, not managing a schedule.
Some days will move quickly, and other days will require more patience and flexibility.
If lessons consistently seem overwhelming, take a look at your daily routine. Are there distractions that can be reduced? Is your child working at the appropriate level? Sometimes a student needs additional practice, while other times a parent may need to focus on the most important assignments and move forward rather than striving for perfection.

It is also important to remember that education is about more than completing pages in a lesson plan. The goal is to help your child grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Some of the most valuable learning happens during conversations, shared reading, family prayers, and the everyday moments that a grade cannot measure.
Most importantly, do not lose sight of why you chose to homeschool. Being present with your child cannot be overstated nor ever recaptured once lost. Years from now, your child will not remember every worksheet completed, but he will remember the time, attention, and love you invested in him.
How can I get my daughter’s academic records?
The simplest thing is to print her report cards from your MySeton page. There is no fee for that, and you have complete access to them.
You can access the report card from your MySeton page by clicking “Courses,” then clicking the printer icon above the course list (on the left side of the page).
You can also request an official copy of the report card to be emailed to you. If the school year has been completed, the report card will say the student has been promoted to the next grade.
You can also request a transcript by going to “Resources” and then clicking on “Request Seton Transcripts”.
The Transcript Request is set up for high school students needing transcripts for college applications, but anyone can request them. There is a fee for that service, as it is through a third-party provider (called Parchment) that we have found to be quick and reliable,

How do we access the Seton Supplemental Reading Lists?
On your MySeton page, click on Courses, scroll down to Reading, and click the yellow notebook on the Reading line. The Supplemental Reading List will display.
Is there a yearly overview of all the books in my subjects?
There is a list of books for each course on your packing list. If you choose not to get the book, it will still be there, but grayed out, so you can see all the books. A list of all the books for each course is also on the first page of that course’s lesson plans.
The list is very helpful as you organize your materials at the beginning of your school year.

Do I return old lesson plans?
When you finish your lesson plans, you can either mail them back to us for shredding or shred/destroy them yourself.
If you shred, destroy, or burn them yourself, let us know by emailing counselors@setonhome.org so we can note it in our database.
If you mail them back, include your name and family number. Send them to Seton Home Study School, 1350 Progress Drive, Front Royal, VA 22630.
Include a note in the package stating that you are ‘returning old/used lesson plans.’
